Join Me on the Sandi Patty Cruise in 2014!

I have about 15 different posts that have been working their way out of my head after I FINALLY turned in my manuscript a few weeks ago. I can’t wait to share more about what’s been going on in our lives (not much, which is why it’s so fantastic:)) and also to get your opinions on a few struggles I’ve faced recently. I’m learning more and more that it really does take a village, and sometimes it’s best to just ask others how they’ve managed and see what you can glean. All that to say, I’m soaking up some summer and enjoying some breathing room. I hope you all are doing the same!

Next year, I have the incredible honor of being a part of a fantastic adventure, and I want to invite you all to come along. I know it’s not easy to plan for these kinds of things (financially, time-wise etc), but if it fits with where you are, I would love to encourage you to join us. The ship is incredible, and all of the destinations are spectacular. We’re taking the whole family!!! Anyway, I wanted to mention it in the hopes that you might be able to steal away with us for a bit :) In addition to moi, here’s the funtastic lineup:)

Sandi Patty
Selah
Larnelle Harris
Sheila Walsh
Anita Renfroe
Wayne Watson
Jim Lyon

The boat leaves February 23-March 2, 2014. You can find more details or sign up here. YAY!!!!!!

How is your whole family going? Do they have family suites? Do you stay in different rooms and bring a nanny or 2? I can’t figure it out from the website how families are accommodated but would sure like to know!

I read your post on Ann’s blog today. It made me cry and was very beautiful! However, I had to share here that as a mom of boys I struggle with this kind of stuff far frequently than just a one-time-climbing-of-the-roof. My six year old rides the ginormous bowl at the skate park. He picked up a gun and pointed it at his brother the other day when at a friend’s house (I had no idea the gun was in their house and out for kids to grab). One son has so many “near-death” experiences that I’ve lost count. I would go SERIOUSLY crazy if I didn’t believe in God’s sovereignty. My husband and I have had to let go and realize that God knows the amount of time they have left on this earth and nothing is going to change that. Considering my own dad’s, father-in-law’s, and husband’s run-ins with death (car accidents, house logs landing on them in the woods, horses kicking them in the chest, chimney accident knocking all of his teeth out, BMX accident, being charged by a angry Grizzly bear in the mountains, cliff diving on the North Shore, etc. etc.) I realize that we can’t live a life bound by fear……especially with guys in our life!

Angie- I found your blog though Ann V’s. I had to start at the beginning (2008) and just want to say thank you for ministering to me and so many other women. You are such a blessing.

I miss your regular posts….seems all the blogs I follow are dormant. I’m sure it’s for good reason.
